THALES OF A WALE| IMMERSIVE SPACE AT NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF FLORENCE

For the new space in the paleontology and geology section of the Natural History Museum of Florence called Thales of a wale , 3P TECHNOLOGIES in collaboration with the architect Lorenzo Greppi, worked to offer the visitor the feeling of being in the deep Ocean.

A good opportunity to see the 10 meter long skeleton of a Pliocene's whale found in 2007 in Orciano Pisano. On the exhibition walls two synchronized images tell the story of the discovery of the fossil while on the ceiling a suggestive projection will be displayed using three special projectors. The digital images recall the movements and majestic size of the cetacean into its natural habitat creating a contrast with the fossil exhibited below. Thanks to an immersive 6.0 dolby surround soundtrack by Lorenzo Greppi, microscope lenses and diver's masks to look inside a number of show-boxes on the walls, the visitor will have the feeling to be under water swimming with the whales. All the system is managed by a modern touchscreen control centre that allows to program and schedule the shows, set the basic controls and check the devices enabling control and management of power usage and  system conditions.
